Immokalee High football stars attract attention of major college programs.

So where in the world is Immokalee you ask?

If you wish to keep up with football recruiting for the Class of 2013, it starts less than 50 miles from Lake Okeechobee and The Everglades. Now football fanatics are well aware of programs like Glades Central (Belle Glade) and Pahokee, but Immokalee is not a household word in recruiting circles.

Until now.

It’s been less than a month since National Signing Day and already schools like South Florida, Florida State and Tennessee have discovered the little town with the Seminole Indian name and a bevy of big-time athletes. FOUR Immokalee rising seniors already have pledged.

USF already has received commitments from quarterback/athlete Tshumbi Johnson (5-11/185) and receiver Xavier Richardson (6-3/190). FSU picked up another pledger from a nationally-coveted defensive tackle in Deadrin Senat (6-1/311). The Volunteers got the commitment from highly-ranked cornerback Mackensie Alexander (5-11/170).

So, you see recruiting hasn’t slowed down for the fanatics.
